Common misunderstandings of PVC foam board
Time:2021-05-28 15:03:37View count:

PVC foam board has many advantages. It is regarded as a potential "substitute for traditional wood materials" in foreign countries. The performance of the product is somewhat different depending on the place where it is used. Next, let’s understand some misunderstandings that people usually understand

Common misunderstandings of PVC foam board(图1)

  1. Flame retardant is not "not burning"

Some choose the PVC foam board to use a lighter to burn the PVC foam board, to see if it can be burned, it is not fireproof when it is burned, and it is flame retardant if it is not burned. This is a common misunderstanding. The country requires that the fire rating of PVC foam boards reach the Bf1-t0 level. According to the national standard, non-combustible materials are classified as fire-resistant A-level, such as stone, tile, etc. The technical content of the Bf1-t0 flame retardant standard is a cotton ball with a diameter of 10 mm, dipped in alcohol, and placed on the PVC floor to burn naturally. After the cotton ball is burned out, measure the diameter of the burnt PVC floor trace, if less than 50mm is the Bf1-t0 flame retardant standard.

  2. Not being environmentally friendly does not rely on "sniffing"

The material itself is formaldehyde-free, and the PVC floor is not allowed to use formaldehyde during the production process. Some advanced PVC foam boards will use new calcium carbonate raw materials, which will have a faint taste when they are just made. People's bodies cause harm without making people feel uncomfortable. It will disperse after being placed for a period of ventilation.

  3. "Abrasion resistance" is not "not scratched with sharp tools"

When some people ask about the service life and wear resistance of the PVC foam board, they take out sharp tools such as a knife or key and scratch the surface of the PVC floor. If there are scratches, they are considered to be non-wearable. In fact, the national test for the abrasion resistance of PVC flooring is not simply scratched on the surface with a sharp tool, but is specifically determined by the national testing agency.

Therefore, when choosing PVC foam board, it is necessary to correctly understand the performance of PVC foam board and eliminate misunderstandings.
